Donna, the nurse, called about James and his constant spitting up, elevated b/pr, possible acid reflux..will treat (am).
Deb called this afternoon to inform me that James will be discharged from Medicare as of 8/19; noncompliant pt “what’s your plan for payment?”
Tyler- xfer from Deb; consider putting orders on hold, supervisor out of town
Tuesday 8/17/10
Etta wants “garters” but really describing knee high trouser socks
James walked with me down the hall and back; held by hand, seemed steady
Need to ask about his glasses; same for Etta
Teeth?
Kim offered hand me down recliner from neighbor resident getting a new one…will move James’ bed sideways and put recliner in room to encourage him out of the bed
Etta conversation:
She said someone asked her if she wanted to go back to Daddy. She told me, I don’t know how they could do that, but I would go with them if I could see my daddy.
Everyday, Etta ask the following: how to spell my last name, when was my surgery (referring to my hysterectomy in 2002), how much do I weigh?
When I told Etta that the children and I would bring treats tomorrow, she said, “Call first because I’m just not sure if we will be here every day. It depends on whether James wants to stay at home or not…I try to spoil him a little.”
Etta thinks she sleeps at home each night after “working all day”. Only once did she say they slept there… “We were here so late that we just slept here instead of going home.”
Etta finally agreed on her own that she didn’t want her rings to be brought into the nursing home…said too many things get taken and go missing. I showed her the inventory I have of all their items so she would now I am accounting for the things that belong to James and Etta.
